The Ultimate Jukebox. In New Orleans, guitarist Duane Eddy is the “King of Twang.” Roy Head the Texas soul man, and Red Simpson “a giant” of truck-driving music. All three perform at this year’s Ponderosa Stomp music festival. “We try to bring people who are getting older and who don’t perform live much anymore,” says Heather West, a Stomp organizer. Round off the weekend at the record hop, where local vinyl collectors sell their old 45s.
